About the Comic
History
Patrick and I have been updating Masters of the Art since April 12 of 2004 and currently we upload new comics on every Monday and Friday. When I came to Patrick with the notion of starting a webcomic initially my idea for Masters of the Art was more of an action/drama webcomic; can you believe it? I'm intrigued by stories that begin light-hearted but end heavy. But, for better or worse, the comic sort of took on a life of it's own I've been happy letting it be what it is. Consequently, the name doesn't really make any sense. Oh well, what's in a name, right? Now I just play it off as if I'm mocking melodramatic manga.
Plot
Plot? Let me ask you this, does your life have a plot? If so, you're probably insane. No, Masters of the Art has no plot, but it's more than just a "slice of life." Life doesn't have encounters with radioactive chefs, hobo santa, or depressed amazon warriors. MotA is part action, part romance, part science fiction, a lot of funny, a little bit country and a little bit rock 'n roll. Dig it.
