The Coolest Thing Ever Fri, January 07 2005 - 3:19 AM by: Justin |

Look at the comic, and then look at all the new buttons! Yep, we did away with the Features page and gave the gallery and links their own buttons on the main nav bar. A red-letter day indeed, but not because of a mere rearrangement of our online furniture, ooh no. Patrick and I are the proud parents of a baby forum! Only registered users can post, so please register, ask us questions, share your artwork, a comic you made, or a comic you like. New forums for various topics will develop as the need rises, but I'm not expecting all of you to run and sign up at once if you know what I mean. Patrick was also so kind as to code up a page for my journal comics, which I'll probably update rather infrequently, and certainly not with any semblance of consistency. Enjoy!

Change is Good Fri, January 07 2005 - 1:30 PM by: Patrick |

Notably, this post is a bit late. I am aware of that. One of the things that I've been trying to get better at is updating consistently in a more timely fashion, but I've been sick for the past day and a half. Among other things, being sick has kept me from thinking properly - yesterday my head felt as though it were full of potatoes. For a second, try to distance yourself from the taste of potatoes and imagine them solely as an entity designed to clog heads. It's a nuisance more than anything else, but at least it offers me an excuse for stupidity. I mean, I can't help it if my cranium decides to cultivate a few perennial tubers. Anyway, I felt the need to rest a bit more this morning, so I did. That is the direct cause of my tardiness.
Justin's been over the main points of the day, so all I can really do is elaborate. We rid ourselves of the Features section chiefly because I felt it led to confusion when navigating the site. That is, I'd imagine that for someone not familiar with our layout it might have be tricky to remember that Justin's Art went under Features. Not a big change there at all, but hopefully it makes things a bit less confusing. Justin decided to start up a journal comic, and even though there's nothing there yet that we haven't seen, it still fills me with elation. I coded the section quite awhile ago, and it makes me happy to see it finally being used, even if infrequently. We started the forum in the hopes that it'd help make a community out of our fan base. Of course in order for that to happen, we'll need to have a something of a real fan base first. Though the idea that it takes people to make a good forum and a good forum to attract people may appear circular at first, I can almost guarantee you that once we get the ball rolling the whole thing will perpetuate itself rather nicely. That comes from one quarter part experience and three quarter parts blind faith.
